Step-by-Step Tutorial: Lettering Imprinting & Patina

We’re excited to kick off our “Storybook” theme with a fun new tutorial! I love this technique, creating mini message token charms and pendants from altered blanks! In this tutorial you will learn how to imprint letters and designs into altered blanks and color them using Vintaj Patina. The Patina is permanent, and once the blank is highlighted with the Metal Reliefing Block it accentuates your colorful message giving your designs a bold statement.

Necklace incorporates a beautiful handmade ‘simple truths’ fairy tales do come true charm from our “Storybook” Art Bead Partner, Erin Prais-Hintz of Tesori Trovati – Treasures Found. Erin has created a collection of limited edition charms & pendants special for our theme! Be sure to check out her blog and Etsy shop throughout the month, and stop back here for our project inspiration, interview with Erin and peek into her studio, our Design Challenge & Giveaway!

Choose from a palette of 15 Vintaj Patina colors to create your own impressive charm in 8 easy steps! View our Tools & Supplies category for the Patina collections.

Happy Designing!
