Unlock Your Story Through Jewelry Design

Have you been dreaming up your design interpretation of our “Storybook” theme yet? We can’t wait to see how you unlock your story and share it with us through jewelry or altered art!

See how Betsy took our theme and magically told her story through two stunning necklace designs inspired by beautiful ‘simple truths’ pendants from our Art Bead Partner, Erin Prais-Hintz of Tresori Trovati Jewelry.

Inspired by the Love Is – Rosebud pendant.

Layer your necklace with a combination of textured and “patina-ed” 10 Petal Cut Out Flower & 8 Petal Cut Out Flower blanks, filigree wrapped vintage buttons & found objects, riveted 6 Petal Cut Out Flowers & Foliage Bead Caps, embellishments and beads layered over a flattened Garden Trellis Filigree to create an eclectic statement piece! Cobalt from our Antique Window patina kit was used in this project.

Inspired by the Goose That Laid The Golden Egg pendant.

Wire wrap a Beech Leaf fastenable over top a Violet Sprig fastenable with small round bead to create a layered embellishment to drape over the polymer clay pendant. Add a personal touch by letter imprinting your own words onto an Oval Connector altered blank. For added dimension, add texture to the blank using the round end of a ball pein hammer. Apply Onyx patina from our Retro Highway patina kit to the letters to accentuate your message and design. Learn the steps for this technique HERE, in our Letter Imprinting & Patina tutorial!

Submit to our “Storybook” Design Challenge.
Submissions are due by NOON (CST) Friday, May 4th. Our prize is bigger and better than ever!

Happy Designing!

  1. Look at how cute that little goose looks! I love these both. The color patina on the metal is fabulous and I can’t wait to try that! Such a creative mind, Miss Betsy! Enjoy the day!
