Radiant Raven Design Challenge Winner & Editor’s Pick!

Congratulations to Cecilia Cormier, our blog readers voted her “Corvus Corax” necklace the winner of our Radiant Raven Design Challenge! Here is what inspired Cecilia:
“(The Raven – Edgar Allan Poe) …“while I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping…” I wanted to challenge myself by creating a piece entirely of metal and use only cold connections. No patina, no cord, no glass beads, and no glue.

Materials used:
I used the Vintaj Natural Brass Nail Head Rivets, Vintaj Feathered Wing Blanks, Vintaj Arte Metal Chain, Vintaj Brass Chain, assorted base metal charms, wings, beads, pieces and parts and dark annealed bailing wire.”

Our Editor’s Pick for this challenge is Becky Griffith! Her beaded beauty, “Midnight Raven” caught our eye for Radiant Raven. Here is her inspiration:

“The inspiration for this piece was Laura Mear’s  beautiful porcelain “Raven” set  at an angle, as if the Raven is “being born” from the beautiful rainbow blue, purple, and black seed beads which surround it. Silver-lined lavender beads outline the Raven Feathers, and jet black Swarowski crystals with an AB finish add even more iridescence to the beautiful piece. The black color of the Arte Metal Vintaj chains  add beautiful variety of texture and visual interest as they support the raven.”
