The Winner & Editor’s Pick for the Morning Mist Design Challenge!

Congratulations to Marina Lombardi of Alidilbellula, her “Haze of March” necklace is the winning design in our Morning Mist Design Challenge! Here is what inspired Marina…

“When making this necklace I imagined the early hours of the morning in a country lane: sprouts of hawthorn and lilac in the hedges, while a little fairy is guarding the nest of a bird. I combined several techniques: polymer clay leaves and seed beads rows create a tangle of branches, in which I inserted mother-of-pearl and glass flowers, and Vintaj brass elements , treated with patina and acrylics. The suede string adds a touch of softness to the necklace. The entire composition has delicate and soft colors, evoking the haze of a spring morning.”

Marina wins a collection of over 75 pieces of Vintaj embellishments and findings!

Our Editor’s Pick for this challenge is Francesca Maria Strada and her “Hidden Lake” earrings!

Here is what inspired Francesca…

“Early morning: surrounded by foothills, the lake awakes shrouded in mist, while the first dim rays of sunshine reveal dark shapes of trees.
I go through this inspiring landscape on my way to work, and I pictured its special light and shades wire-wrapping pearls around deco-embossed trees.”

Thank you to everyone who participated! Submissions for our Plum Orchard Design Challenge are due Friday April 5 by noon CT.

Congrats to Marina… and yes, as the “hidden lake” inspiring me is Lake Como, this is definitely “a meeting of Italians”! ;)
