Personalized Jewelry & Home Decor

Have you seen the latest issue of Bead Unique yet? If not, you must pick a copy! There are 50+ Projects for Wintry Fun and handfuls of Vintaj inspiration throughout the pages. I love the cover piece – “Faith” Metalwork Pendant – designed by Becky Brown. You can learn Metalwork and Cold Connections on pages 44-46. This is the same technique as our Rivet & Texture step-by-step video. To create a similar look, I suggest using P295- 34mm Altered Blank Circle as the base of your pendant. For the message piece you can texture and imprint a word on P293- 32mm Altered Blank Rectangle, then you can rivet it to the circle base. (Or, cut out your own shapes from Altered Blank Canvases)! For a domed look, use a dapping block to form the complete pendant. It’s simple and so much fun to make – you can personalize pendants for Christmas gifts with your family and friends in mind!
Also, learn how to make four great home décor projects in this issue! One of them is my project on page 56 called ‘Believe in Fairies’ – A beautiful fairy-print sheet of paper was all the inspiration I needed to create this pretty, whimsical bottle! You can use any kind of glass bottle to embellish with Vintaj findings, snowy glitter, and sparkling beads. I recommend using Tim Holtz® Distress Vintage Photo ink pad to darken the cork. And don’t forget to have your Ranger Glossy Accents on hand to seal the photo or image! P292- 25mm Altered Blank small circle fits perfectly behind our Deco Window Filigree! Get creative and add a family photo to display on your mantel or your kids adorable little face to tuck away on your bookshelf. I also recommend using a polishing cloth to gently highlight and relief the gorgeous detailed wings and words on the affirmation ring! See what else is in this issue and get out your tools, it’s time to create!

I would really love to learn more about imprinting blanks. What kind of die set is used for the lettering?
