Daily_DialogueYour step-by-step guide to crafting with style! In the Dec/Jan 2010 issue of Simply Handmade you will learn 48 ways to go handmade including adorable and fun holiday craft projects. In the Holiday Home Décor section on pages 20 – 38, feast your eyes on the following project ideas and much more to spark your creativity…

Christmas House – made from Tattered Angels chipboard and embellished with Ranger inks, Melissa Frances patterned paper & rub-ons, Martha Stewart glitter, and other craft supply favorites. Beatriz Jennings suggests making three of these adorable houses and arranging them in a little scene with fake snow. I agree!

Reindeer Frame – simply whitewash a frame and cut a beautiful flourish patterned paper to fit inside. Trace both of a child’s hands and one of their feet on cardstock, cut them out, and arrange them into a reindeer on the flourish paper. Add buttons to the reindeer for eyes and a nose then insert into the frame. Viola~ you now have a preschool craft project elevated from cute to timeless!

Joy Banner – perfect to drape from your mantel or above a doorway. Take apart and embellish a triangle chipboard album from Maya Road and cover each piece with a different block of patterned paper. Draw borders, adhere jumbo ric rac to the back edges to create a scalloped border, cover star chipboard pieces with vintage music paper and cover chipboard letters and snowflakes with silver glitter. Add ribbons, jingle bells, and connect it all together with wire to create a banner.

These handmade projects are perfect decorations. Even little crafts to put on gifts says you put yourself into that gift. Guess the girls at Hobby Lobby will be seeing me AGAIN this week :)
