Hi, I'm Ainsley. Welcome to my first Mid-Month blog post! These blog posts feature different designers, like myself, and by default, will bring more variety in artistry. The additional posts give even more opportunity for unique inspiration in designs along with enjoyable, new projects. This new series of blog posts also will introduce new, themed collections of products added to our retail inventory, and this month is all about the beach!
To create my designs, I've drawn my inspiration from the new Beach Vibes products as well as Limited Edition Golden Sands Bead Mix and added a tribal ambiance to the mix. The combination of various metals gives the pieces a distinct and contemporary appearance full of contrast. I wanted to include plenty of diversity in my designs, so you'll notice some are refined while others are edgier in order to please a variety of preferences.
You can make any of the designs below with our Jewelry Kits. You can also find VIDEO TUTORIALS for techniques as well as project materials, tools and supply lists below.
Time to begin creating with this month's inspiration...
Check out our fresh products in our Beach Vibes collection. The new products really add to the ocean-feel of the collection. We've incorporated more shells, flowers, leaves, and sea-life to include even more variety to your options. The new pieces offer a whole new opportunity for inspiration that I've used in my designs below.
Don't miss out on our Limited Edition Golden Sands Bead Mix that includes; Swarovski Crystal, Freshwater Pearls, Faux Pearls, Czech Glass, Pressed Glass, Fire Polished Glass & Asian Cut Crystal! I've used this bead mix throughout my designs.
The Golden Sands Bead Mix quintessentially reminds me of a golden sunset on the warm, sandy beach with seagulls overhead, and it has defined the look of the Beach Vibes collection of pieces.
This piece was an adventure, but when it finally came together, it was one of my favorite designs. Tribal Essence Necklace is totally gender-neutral and packed with jump rings. The combination of the Copper Antique, Natural Brass and Sterling Silver finish gives an earthy yet modern look. The Tribal Essence Necklace requires hammering and wiring, so check out our Skills School for any techniques you haven't learned yet.

P.S. To make your hammering easier, use clear tape.
Say hello to the Tribal Island Necklace! This necklace is all about structure, and I struggled over and over again to make the pieces lay right. Once I figured out just how to make it work, I felt so successful, and this was the result, an industrial yet tribal-beach necklace. The Tribal Island Necklace mixes multiple metal finishes, and I made it to work as a pair with the Tribal Essence Necklace above. To create this piece, you'll have to put to use your wiring and hole punching skills, but it's nothing too complicated. I hope you enjoy creating the Tribal Island Necklace!

My mom called this piece "a work of love", and I can confirm that's true. The Island Paradise Bracelet took me hours to create that were well worth it. This is my absolute favorite piece that I created for the Beach Vibes collection. It requires the hammering of spacer beads in multiple places to prevent the pieces from shifting out of their intended shape. Thankfully, it'll be much easier for you to recreate! The Island Paradise Bracelet channels bohemian beach vibes and can bring a little island paradise to your life! I hope you enjoy this project!

As one of my softer, more refined designs, Seashore Treasures Bracelet is a charming piece with mostly simple construction. The most difficult part of making it is the wiring of the beads in the cable jump rings. The Seashore Treasures Bracelet features warm tones like the Coastline Sunset Necklace below. The romantic feel reflects that of a beach at dusk. The Seashore Treasures Bracelet also reminds us of childhood perspectives when seashells were a mystery and treasure.

The Coastline Sunset Necklace is a lot less sophisticated than my other designs, but sometimes simplicity is nice. This piece is all warm tones to really capture that golden sunset on a beach feel. To make the Coastline Sunset Necklace, you will need to know how to hammer the circle spacer beads and make a wrapped loop, but everything else is nice and simple like its design.

Glistening Seaside Necklace contrasts my other pieces the most out of the Beach Vibes collection because of its classy chic look. This piece only uses our beloved Vintaj Natural Brass for metal that nicely compliments the Swarovski crystal, the focal point, as well as the iridescent pearl and other beads. The colors in the Glistening Seaside Necklace evokes the thought of the sun's rays hitting the ocean and how that reflection glistens. The piece is all neutral tones which allows it to have a sense of harmony and peace. Glistening Seaside Necklace uses a pearl head pin that's ending has been cut to wire the pearl into the cable jump ring. The falling leaves component has a hole punched on one end, and the chain requires a bead awl to enlarge it on the ends. Everything else should be fairly straight forward. I hope you like this project!

The Star Drop Earrings combine Solid and Natural Brass to create a soft and warm-toned piece. They have a young and playful look that unite structured and organic shapes. Despite the structure, they still have a soft appeal; the teardrop beads make this soft look possible. The Star Drop Earrings use the same hammering technique mentioned above as well as an intermediate wiring technique. Happy designing!

As a mix of Solid Brass, Natural Brass, and Solid Pewter, the Palm Coastal Earrings create harmony in mixing metals. In this design, I tried to emulate the iconic combination of hibiscus flowers and palm leaves that are associated with the beach. The Palm Coastal Earrings are a quick + easy design. All you need to do is open and close some jump rings to be able to create this modish, tropic look.
